Coaching for Executives and owners of a business is on the increase. When you at the top of an organisation or owner of the business often times it can be a lonely place. This can be particularly be the case when managing and driving the business through a difficult phase for example in a recession or when sales are in decline due to competitive pressures.

Coaching can be particularly helpful and supportive to senior managers and business owners. While it is not impossible for an individual to change their behaviour it has been proven that it is far more effective and beneficial in both the short and long term for individuals to focus on their strengths.

Changing the culture in an organisation is not impossible and never easy but it can be done. If you keep on doing what you have been doing then you will keep on getting what you have got up to now.

If the business is performing to a level, then the levels can be raised. If business owners, executives and senior managers are performing at a level then these levels can also be raised. Raising the bar annually by increasing budgets with the same resources always proves to be a challenge. Coaching can help individuals to improve personal and corporate performance, this and give them the edge in securing new clients and new business.

As an example look for your Blind Spots where for example almost everyone in the team is aware of the shortcomings of an individual but the individual himself is unaware of these. Explorative discussion can highlight these areas and create awareness so as to effect positive change. It creates a stronger sense of team where colleagues work and for each other.

So ask yourself three basic questions:

  • Where are you now?
  • Where do want to go to?
  • What needs to happen for you to get there?

These can be applied to any situation or set of circumstances and finally the powerful question can be asked;

WHAT IS PREVENTING YOU FROM ACHIEVING YOUR OWN OR ORGANISATIONAL GOALS?
